Through my travels, my leisure, and fatherhood, I have become increasingly aware of the beauty of God’s creation. From grand scale mountains, plains, and sunrises, to individual flowers, children, and weathered barns, beauty is waiting to be noticed and enjoyed. That is what I love about art. Whether I am mixing paint in the woods on a backpacking trip to capture a secluded winter seen, or studying the sunlight on a little girl’s hair for a portrait in my studio, I am blessed to see the beauty in creation and have the chance to share it with others. Each painting is a call to notice and a reminder of some beautiful thing. Each time I look at one of my works, it asks me, “Remember this time, this place, this great thing or person?” and encourages me to notice again, the beauty that is all around.
I have lived in rural Central Ohio my whole life and am a husband to a wonderful wife and the father of two beautiful girls. I would be honored to be able to share my art with you and thank you for taking the time to read this.
“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities–his eternal power and divine nature–have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.” Romans 1:20
